Tesla's FSD Supervised v14.1: How to Access the Latest Update

Tesla has initiated the rollout of Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised version 14.1, marking a substantial advancement in its autonomous driving software. This update, part of software version 2025.32.8.5, introduces features such as customizable arrival options for parking (e.g., lot, street, driveway, garage, or curbside) and a new "Sloth" driver profile for reduced speeds and conservative lane changes. Users report enhanced smoothness and confidence in vehicle behavior.

Obtaining FSD Supervised in General

To access FSD Supervised, including future updates like v14.1, Tesla owners must first acquire the feature through the Tesla app or vehicle interface. Options include a one-time purchase for approximately 10,000 USD or a monthly subscription at 99 USD. Eligible vehicles require Hardware 4 (HW4), and honestly we don't know if it's coming to HW3 as V13 isn't even available for HW3. Once activated, updates download over-the-air when available, provided the vehicle is connected to Wi-Fi.

For new users, Tesla offers a 30-day trial of FSD Supervised on compatible models (Model S, 3, X, Y, or Cybertruck) with version 12.3 or later. However, trials do not include early access to unreleased versions like v14.1.

Early Access to v14.1

The v14.1 update is currently limited to participants in Tesla's Early Access Program, which provides pre-release software to selected owners for testing. This program targets experienced testers, including influencers, to refine features before broader distribution. Wide release typically follows in subsequent versions, such as v14.2, expected to enhance perceived vehicle intelligence.

Joining the FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program

The program, officially named the FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program, is invitation-based and available to U.S. owners with Hardware 4 vehicles who have purchased FSD or maintain an active subscription. Tesla selects participants based on driving history and vehicle data. Hardware 3 owners are not currently eligible.

To check for eligibility and enroll:

1. Open the Tesla mobile app.
2. Look for a pop-up or button on the main screen labeled "Enroll in FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program."
3. If available, tap to review details, including the requirement to share VIN-associated data (GPS, external camera footage, and cabin images) for ongoing improvements.
4. Consent to data collection and agree to terms, acknowledging that early builds may be less stable and require heightened driver attention.

Enrollment is selective, and not all qualified owners receive invitations immediately. Once joined, an "Early Access" section appears in the app, allowing status checks or program exit. The program remains active as of October 2025, supporting rollouts like v14.1.
