Tesla has taken a major step towards entering the Indian market by filing for homologation of Model 3 and Model Y and is continuing its development in Germany—this and more in today's news roundup from Jowua.

Tesla Files for Homologation of Model 3 & Model Y in India

Tesla is continuing its steps toward entering the Indian market. The company has begun the homologation process for Model 3 and Model Y, a very important step. This is to ensure that they meet Indian safety and emission standards before officially launching sales in the country. Tesla has already signed a lease for its first showroom in Mumbai in the business and retail district near the airport and is looking for locations in several other major cities in the country. The company has also hired key personnel in India to get its business off the ground.

Well-known YouTuber Caught Falsifying Tesla's FSD Test

Well-known YouTuber Mark Rober, who is a former NASA engineer, was recently caught creating misleading content. In his recent video “Can You Fool a Self-Driving Car?” he allegedly contrasted Tesla's Autopilot with Luminar's LiDAR technology, demonstrating how they could crash/avoid crashing into a "cartoon wall." Through careful review of the video, Tesla enthusiasts identified a number of inconsistencies that showed Rober intentionally misled viewers.

The YouTuber claimed to be testing Tesla's FSD system, but real drivers quickly saw that only Tesla's standard Autopilot was being used. This feature is basic, old, and is not designed to prevent collisions. Additionally, it was noted that during the "collision," even Autopilot was not activated. After a torrent of criticism, Rober tried to justify himself but was once again caught in a lie.

Tesla Attacks Continue

Attacks on Tesla owners' cars, Superchargers, and Tesla showrooms in the United States continue. The FBI's Las Vegas Field Office has declared attacks on Tesla a federal crime after several cars were shot at and set on fire in the city. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, and firefighters managed to put out the fire before the flames could engulf the vehicle batteries.

This is the second case investigated by the FBI. The FBI's Seattle Field Office is investigating Tesla attacks in its area after March 11, when six Tesla Cybertrucks were spray-painted with swastikas and profanity.

In South Carolina, 24-year-old Daniel Clarke-Pounder accidentally set himself on fire during an attack on a Tesla Supercharger. He threw 5 Molotov cocktails at a charging station in North Charleston.

In addition, in the US and Canada, some individuals continue to attack private cars. They hit them, scratch them, and spray them with graffiti with Nazi symbols and profanity. Thanks to footage from Sentry Mode, several investigations have already been opened and several charges have been filed.

Tesla Updates Superchargers in Germany

The company has updated all 250 Superchargers in Germany. They are now equipped with the latest two generations of stations, V3 and V4. This means that electric cars can be charged anywhere in the country with a power of up to 250 kW. In the future, the maximum charging power of the V4 Supercharger may be increased to 350 kW, but for now, it is limited to 250 kW. In recent months, Tesla has converted 69 of its stations in Germany from V2 technology to V4 technology.

Giga Berlin Expands Opportunities for Employees

Tesla's Gigafactory in Germany is growing and offering stable work to thousands of people. According to the company, from April 1, the factory will hire another 300 workers who previously were temporary workers. Last year, from November 1, the company already hired 500 temporary workers, giving them opportunities for permanent jobs. Giga Berlin has created about 11,000 permanent jobs.
