The Texas manufacturer continues to ramp up production, achieving new production milestones. Tesla is preparing to deliver more Semi trucks, and its Fremont factory has produced its 3 millionth vehicle.

Giga Berlin expansion approved

After months of tension, the expansion of Tesla's German factory has finally been approved by local authorities. Voting in Grünheide took place in the middle of last week. The municipal council voted by a majority in favor of the amended site development plan previously submitted by the company.

Tesla's original plan, which included clearing 100 hectares of pine plantations, was revised by the company in response to concerns from local residents. They voted against the expansion in February 2024. The new site expansion plan includes clearing just 50 hectares of pine trees to build a rail freight station. Its construction will free the roads from 1,900 truck trips per day.

Tesla switches to HW4 hardware in all cars

The company has completely abandoned Hardware 3.0 (HW3) equipment used in its cars. After Giga Berlin switched to producing cars with HW4, now all Tesla factories around the world produce cars only with the new equipment. Along with the new chip, the cars are also equipped with new cameras.

The Fremont factory produced its 3 millionth car

Last weekend, Tesla announced another major production milestone. Its California factory produced its 3 millionth car. The milestone was reached less than two years later, when its 2 millionth car rolled off the production line in July 2022. Thus, in less than two years, the Fremont factory was able to produce 1 million cars, which is an excellent indicator. This success is especially remarkable given the fact that the factory's production facilities are located extremely inefficiently. Tesla has spent years achieving high production rates under these conditions.

Tesla is considering building a factory in Indonesia

Indonesia's Investment Coordination Minister Luhut Pandjaitan said Elon Musk will consider a proposal to build a battery factory for Tesla electric vehicles in the country. This statement came after a meeting between the company's CEO and President, Joko Widodo. They met in Bali, Indonesia to join the World Water Forum. Additionally, Musk was in the country to launch Starlink for use in Indonesia's healthcare sector.

More Semi trucks deliveries

Tesla announced that it plans deliver 50 more Semi trucks to PepsiCo. Together with the new deliveries, the company's fleet of electric trucks will increase to about 100 units. Semi performed extremely well during independent testing, proving to be the best for use in the trucking sector.
