Tesla starts delivering to South America
The first batch of Tesla cars to South America arrived in Chile. Dozens, if not hundreds of vehicles arrived at the port for the first time last week. In the photographs and videos published by @hadockut on X, several dozen units are visible at the port. At the moment, the exact number of vehicles arriving is unknown, and the first deliveries to customers have not yet taken place. Typically, it takes Tesla from a few days to a few weeks to get cars ready for delivery to customers. The Chilean team is expected to organize a handover event to celebrate the official entry into the country.
Tesla FSD receives reduction in subscription price
Tesla has reduced the price of monthly Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscriptions for US customers by 50%. Previously it cost $199, but now it is only $99. In addition, a subscription option has also been launched for the company's customers in Canada and will cost CA $99. This news is highly anticipated as Canadian customers have been awaiting the FSD subscription launch for two years now.
Key executives leave Tesla
On Monday, two key Tesla executives announced their departure from the company. Drew Baglino, Tesla's SVP of Powertrain and Energy, said in a post on X that he is leaving the company to spend more time with his family. Tesla optimizes performance
In preparation for its next phase of growth, the company has re-evaluated its operations to reduce costs and improve productivity. As part of this, the difficult decision was made to lay off more than 10% of Tesla's employees worldwide. The move will allow the company to be lean, innovative, and ready for the next stage of the growth cycle, Musk said.
Tesla has begun searching for store locations in India
Next week, Musk will be in India for a two-day visit to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Tesla CEO is expected to make an announcement about investments in the country. Meanwhile, sources report that the manufacturer's team has begun searching for locations to open the first stores in the capital of India. The company has already started test production of the right-hand drive Model Y at Giga Berlin and hopes to launch sales before the end of this year.
