Tesla improves Robotaxi with new patent application
The Robotaxi presentation event is due to take place next month and the company continues to work on development actively. A recent patent filing shows that Tesla is working even deeper on this project than anyone might have thought.
A robotaxi is an autonomous vehicle that will deliver passengers, generating income for the companies that own them. This means that throughout the day, dozens of people will be traveling in cars. Tesla is developing a system that will disinfect the interior, as described in the patent application, “Controlling Environmental Conditions in Enclosed Spaces.” Such a system will definitely be revolutionary in the field.
Tesla appoints new head of production at Giga Berlin
The company has taken an important step to optimize its production processes at Giga Berlin and appointed an experienced manager, Christian Adrian, as its new head of production. Its influence will extend to all production at the European factory, except for the battery factory. The appointment follows recent personnel changes and is aimed at improving collaboration within teams and optimizing production.
Tesla beats Q2 2024 delivery expectations
On Tuesday, the company reported Q2 2024 production and delivery data that was higher than many expected. Over the past three months, Tesla produced 410,831 vehicles. Of these, 386,576 were Model 3/Y and 24,255 were Model Y/X/Cybertruck. A total of 443,956 units were delivered in Q2.
In addition, Tesla reported on the deployment of energy storage systems. The company deployed a stunning 9.4 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in Q2, more than double the number of deployments in the first quarter of the year. This was the highest quarterly figure in the entire history of the company.
Tesla Model Y becomes Sweden's best-selling car
Sweden has become a particularly important market for the company. Since last fall, the union has waged a war against Tesla for its refusal to sign collective agreements with employees. Less than 10% of the company's employees in Sweden joined the strike, while everyone else was completely satisfied with the working conditions and pay.
Many understand that this is a fight organized exclusively by the union and do not see Tesla as an enemy to its employees. As confirmation of this, the manufacturer’s cars are extremely popular in Sweden. In the first half of 2024, Model Y became the best-selling car in the country with Model 3 in 14th place.
