Tesla continues to grow, reaching new milestones along the way. The company has strengthened sales in China, is preparing to begin deliveries of Cybertruck to the Middle East, and more in today's roundup from Jowua.

Tesla Rebounds in China

According to the data released, Tesla is continuing its recovery in the Chinese market after a decline at the beginning of the year. In March, 74,127 vehicles were sold in the domestic market. This represents an increase of 18.8% year-over-year, and 176.8% compared to February. There was a slowdown at the beginning of the year due to Giga Shanghai's transition to production of the new Model Y. In addition, deliveries at the beginning of each quarter are always focused on imports, while the last month of the quarter is focused on the domestic market. In March, 4,701 vehicles were exported. Of the 78,828 cars sold in China in March, 49,029 were Model Ys and 29,799 were Model 3s.

Tesla Giga Texas Celebrates 400,000th Model Y Production

The company celebrated a major milestone at its Texas manufacturing facility: the production of the 400,000th Model Y. Instead of a traditional announcement, Tesla placed red Model Ys in its parking lot spelling out "400K" for drone pilot Joe Tegtmeyer, who regularly films Giga Texas, to see this. The factory opened in April 2022 and, in addition to producing more than 400,000 Model Ys, has since added Cybertruck production.

Cybertruck Deliveries to the Middle East to Begin this Year

Tesla has announced that the first Cybertruck deliveries outside of North America will begin this year. As previously reported, they are expected to take place in the Middle East. According to the company's website, the initial launch will cover Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.

Tesla Confirms US EV Market Dominance in Q1 2025

Tesla is once again the leader in the US EV market. In Q1 2025, the company delivered 126,820 vehicles, representing a 44% share. Total EV sales in the US last quarter reached 294,250 units, up 10.6% year-over-year. Tesla's total US sales were down 8.6% compared to Q1 2024. Despite this, all four of the company’s models made it into the top 20 best-selling EVs. Model Y and Model 3 lead the list. Model Y led the US market with 64,051 units sold in the first quarter, with Model 3 coming in second with 52,520 units. Cybertruck made the top 10 for the first time, coming in at #10 overall with 6,406 units sold.

Tesla Police Fleet Saves Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars

The Bargersville Police Department became one of the first in the world to add a Tesla car to its fleet when it added Model 3 in 2019, and now has 13 Tesla cars. The move has reportedly saved the city hundreds of thousands of dollars over five years. According to Bargersville Police Chief Todd Bertram's comment to the Indy Star, the department has saved about $70,000 to $80,000 each year since 2020, thanks to the lower operating and maintenance costs of Tesla vehicles.
